Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)

The department offers a 4-year full time graduate programme in Physiotherapy with six months internship. The course is affiliated to the University of Calicut.

Programme Structure

During the first year the student will gain a thorough knowledge in the basic subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Computer Science
The 2nd year is to provide exposure to Massage, Pathology, Psychology, Sociology, and Pharmacology including Medicine, Surgery, Plastic surgery and Gynaecology.
During the 3rd year; training is imparted to develop professional skill in Physiotherapy. Students get expertise in Electrotherapy and Exercise Therapy. Clinical postings begin in this term
Along with the continuing clinical postings; students are taken to advanced Physiotherapy Techniques in Orthopaedics, Neurology, and Cardiothoracic Disorders in the final year
Successful candidates will be doing a six months full time internship in clinical settings. Number of seats - 50

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examination equivalent there to as approved by Kerala University of Health Science with 50% marks in Biology separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology put together with usual relaxation of mark for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and SEBC students as fixed by Government of Kerala.

How to Apply

Online application for the course has already started. Application fee is Rs. 600/- Candidates whose applications are found acceptable shall be called for an interview. The following documents shall be brought at the time of interview.
