B.Sc. Computer Science

The college offers a three year degree course in Computer Science. It compromises of six semesters and the whole syllabus consists of subjects like English, Mathematics, Communications, Programming Languages, Data Structures, System Software, Computer Organization, Database management, Operating System, Computer Graphics and Networks. The course is affiliated to the University of Calicut.

Objectives

Aim of the course is to provide the best software as well as hardware education to the undergraduate and to bring out an excellent group of computer wizards every year. Extra efforts are put into make the students familiar with the ever changing software technology. Thorough guidance and professional training are provided throughout the period. The emergence of good calibre and ready for employment computer personnel by the end of last semester.

Program Structure

This is a six semester program. In the programme, theory classes and practical sessions are interwoven throughout the course/program. Second half of the final semester is fully devoted to work wherein each student is required to produce a novel software programme of his/her own. The teaching techniques include live demonstrations, practical assignments, seminar sessions, group discussions, laboratory works and regular classroom lectures. No of seats - The annual intake to this course is 36.

Eligibility

A pass in Plus- two/VHSC or equivalent examination with optional subjects, viz., Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

How to Apply

Application for admission shall be made in prescribed formats available with the prospectus. The cost of one set of prospectus and application form is RS.300/- in cash / in person. Those who decide to have it by post shall send a DD for RS. 400/- in favor of "Association for Welfare of the Handicapped" payable at Calicut. The cost of one set of prospectus and application form is RS.300/- in cash / in person. The last date for issue of Prospectus and Application form will be announced by the college from time to time. The filled application forms with enclosures should reach the principal of the college latest by the declared date. Candidates whose applications are found acceptable shall be called for an interview.
